[wp_ad_camp_1] 1854 – Lincoln University, a Historically Black College University,was chartered on April 29, 1954 in Oxford, Pennsylvania.
1992 – The Rodney King Trial Verdict Announced – A Simi Valley jury acquitted four Los Angeles police officers in the beating of motorist Rodney King. The officers had been charged with using excessive found and the case became famous because it was caught on video tape. After the acquital, residents of the Black community in Los Angeles rioted for more than three days. King called for calm in the community, famously asking, “can’t we all just get along?”
